This sport mainly focused in the cities of Kathmandu and Pokhara along with Mustang which we will be discussing here. So, coming to mountain biking in Kathmandu valley, it is not a suitable place in the main valley. However, you can find a lot of places nearby the valley where you can have fun biking. So, the best places in the nooks and corners of the valley and its outskirts could be in the places like Shivapuri National Park, Budhanilkantha, Kakani, Nagarkot, Chisapani, Nagarjun forest, Sitapaila, Ichangu, Tokha, Lele, Bungamati, LakuriBhanjyang, Lubhu, Dhulikhel, Namobuddha, Panauti, Dakshinkali, etc. For interested candidates, some of the agencies provide you with a group where you can go for half day, full day, morning or night time ride. Whereas in Pokhara, you can go for mountain biking easily to nearby places as the roads there are suitable without much traffic. Some of the places you can go are to Phewa Lake, Sarangkot, Rupa Lake and Begnas Lake. You can go to these places easily within a day itself or even less to some of the places. Similarly, while talking about Mountain biking in Mustang, you can take the mountain bike from Pokhara itself where you can finish your journey in two weeks’ time. But for those who are professional at it, you can go with a mountain bike from Kathmandu itself which will take you around 17 days though this much time will be very challenging and difficult. Upper Mustang however, is considered to be one of the best places in Nepal for mountain biking as its topography and landscape.
